It’s that special time of year again! The Holidays are here and that means it’s the busiest shopping time of the year.
Overall, holiday sales represent about 20 percent of annual retail sales each year, but the figure can be higher for some retailers. Hobby, toy and game stores report the highest share at about 30 percent. In addition, holiday sales can be more profitable because the increased volume of purchases comes without significantly increasing retailers’ fixed costs of doing business. -National Retail Federation
However, don’t stress over the Holiday prep. Here are 5 simple tips to help retailers through the holiday season.
Impulse Purchases
Small trinkets and grab-and-go items are big during the Holiday Seasons. These items may be small, but can greatly impact overall sales. Make sure you put these items by the checkout line. Try using dump bins or grid panels with T-legs.
Gift Wrapping
In the spirit of the Holidays give your customers the option of complimentary gift wrap for their purchases. This can be done very simple and doesn’t take much money or time. Instead of wrapping paper, opt for paper kraft bags and tissue. We also have Holiday paper sold exclusively in store, just give us a call at 770.458.7234 one of our experienced sales associates will be happy to help.
Holiday Specific Items in the Front
If you sell Holiday specific items, display them front and center. Set up a captivating and cheerful Holiday display with nesting tables. These tiered tables are great for showing off a lot of product with plenty of space without overcrowding the product.
Christmas Décor
Get people in the Holiday Spirit by putting up some décor. There’s just something about the Christmas decorations that put people in a good and cheerful mood and when customers are happy they are more likely to buy. If you want to get creative try making a Christmas tree mannequin like the one we use in our show room. It’s a big hit every year!
Gift Guides
Lastly, Gift guides are a great way to further increase sales. This can be guides for moms and dads, his and hers, kids and more! Maybe your potential customer never thought of that sweater for her mom, but saw it on the gift guide and ended up buying it.
